One of the things I wonder about

I am wondering why it is that whenever a woman does something (nearly anything -- doesn't even have to be particularly nasty) to a man it is labeled as emasculating yet when a man does something really hateful to a woman it just is. Is there even a female version of emasculate? Efemulate?

  1. nah, we're not so worried about losing our identity /sexuality/power. so we just say it like hit is: he's a soul-sucking bastard.

  2. It came up yesterday while I was watching a review of the new Meryl Streep/Alec Baldwin movie. The reviewer said it was an emasculating fantasy... the guy leaves his wife and marries a much younger woman and it's still emasculating. Geez. Soul-sucking bastard covers it. :-)
